About Zachary Castillo

Zachary Castillo is an undergraduate at Louisiana State University who is pursuing a degree in environmental engineering. He has had the opportunity to gain experience in his field as an environmental health and safety intern with Signal Peak Silica in Texas. Zachary Castillo’s responsibilities included site inspections focused on unsafe practices and working conditions. He also undertook inspections of stormwater and retention ponds to ensure that they were properly retaining water and meeting regulatory standards.

With early experience in the dental field, Mr. Castillo worked in Belize as a dental assistant. In this role, he ensured that rooms and equipment were in proper order for patient treatment, and also assisted dentists in teeth restoration work and prepped patients for temporary and permanent fillings.

Active as a soccer player since elementary school, Mr. Castillo has competed for teams such as the Plantation Athletic Club and Louisiana Fire. He also played varsity soccer in high school, while taking on a role as secretary of the National Honor Society. Since 2014, Zachary Castillo has been active as a soccer referee and officiated game play at youth and adult levels.
